Radio in Charlotte Area (50 mile Radius)

Can anyone tell me the best opportunities for full/part time work in The Charlotte Area?
I am relocating in the early fall but haven't a clue as to what stations are voice tracked or live and where I should begin my search. Despite my experience, I am not too fussy, just looking for something to help pay the bills. I already do a bit of free lance work. You can drop me an email at [email protected]. Just looking to get pointed in the right direction. Thanks

This isn't going to be a very hopeful answer but since no one else has jumped in I guess I will here goes.

Unless you have some very small bills don't count on your work in radio helping out much. The hourly rate around here is $10 an hour, a little less if you don't have much experience. If you're good, you can voice track a 5 hour shift in about an hour. Whoopee you just made $10.

The major players are CBS and Clear Channel. Good luck and let us know how things work out.

Thanks Mike... same as here. Hey, not that long ago I was pulling down 50K, doing a bunch of remotes and a few weekend shifts in Boston. I know, the money sucks, so I just have to do more.

WIXE in Monroe has an opening for an afternoon announcer, 3-6pm. The station is Country/Talk and is not voice tracked. Selling that air-shift is also part of the job. On-Air and Sales experience is required. The position pays hourly and commission on Collections.

You may contact Archie at [email protected] if interested.
