Radio In Iraq

AFRSers in western NY? Yep, but not in Iraq. I did the "Good Morning, Vietnam" show from AFVN in Saigon throughout most of 1967, then worked in Altoona Pa (WFBG), Hornell NY (WHHO) Binghamton (WNBF, WINR) and then on to Rochester (WNYR). Quit radio, taught English in the Pittsford district for 20-some years and retired in 2002.

In Nam I took over the morning show when Adrien Cronauer left; Pat Sajak (spelled Sadjak back then) replaced me. Am currently living in Canandaigua and frequently lurking on this site.

We salute you for your service to our country. On the lighter side, can't help asking: What was more challenging, facing incoming fire, dealing with PDs and GMs as a civie... or teaching a classroom of 30 kids for 20+ years? Lurk less, post more. Best regards.
