radio in ri seems boring

is it me or does talk radio in ri seem very boring? i wish there was a station in providence that talked about local topics only and people could weigh in on them and we didnt have to listen to boring segments about cooking or left vs right or panel of guests? just staright out talk. i wish there was a great scandal or some juicy subject that would really get talk show hosts in a huff. well for now i am tuning into my satellite radio and always hoping for the local stations to get interesting again....

There is something ,actually horrible, about Mayor Cicilline
and his nite time activites at nite clubs.
I can`t post it, because it would probably be deleted.
Any of the insiders who post here want to say what it is?

I would not risk it. You won't get sued but the moderators would surely have an agressive reaction if you posted something questionable here.

It's not even RI radio.
Boston and Hartford are just as boring.

Talk radio seems LOTS more interested in politics than most listeners are. Almost all you hear on talk radio is politics. You already know what Rush Limbaugh will say tomorrow. It's BO-RING.

Part of it might be due to the fact that the syndicated programming is overloaded with talk show hosts who complain about Bush, the war and gas prices day-after-day. [And naturally nobody we've elected want to eliminate these problems...just mutter about 'em].

But the biggest drawback is the INCREDIBLY LONG SPOT CLUSTERS! When you hear as many as 12 ads or promos back-to-back-to-back-to-back (etc.)...NOW THAT'S BORING!

And before somebody brings up the "someone has to pay for the programming" argument.....a better question any advertiser might start asking is:

"IF MY PRODUCT IS GONNA GET BURIED IN A SPOT CLUSTER AND NOBODY KNOWS ABOUT IT, IS THE SHOW I'M SPENDING MY MONEY ON TRULY A GOOD INVESTMENT FOR ME?"

It's just about time for a 'show-down' at almost every radio station. If you are sincerely interested in making money....you better start listening to the crap that coming out of the frequency(s) you own?

A lot of it IS boring!
