What would be the thoughts of the posters here of an in-person meeting of the residents of this board?

Nothing fancy, just picking a location and a date and time to meet and mingle.

Might be fun....Any thoughts on whether this would be a good or bad idea?

We tried to set this up during the summer of 2001. I guess you could say I was in charge b/c I asked whoever that would be interested to email me. We were either going to do it a Centennial Park or I was going to rent meeting space at my old job. But needless to say it didn't work out. I have met several people from the site on my own time though. But I think it's a great idea, but not sure people would be up for that. We should all get shirts w/ our log on names w/ them!! AJ JAM would be mine!! LOL...I have always been up for the idea..but we'll see
______________

I think your risking fisticuffs, given the conflicting views of some members of this board.

Cool, y'all....Keep the comments coming please. Maybe we will, maybe we won't....Just trying to judge interest.

But the idea of Isolation Booths might not be a bad idea....

I'd love to do that. I agree it would be fun. But there's one reason why it's unlikely to happen. Ninety percent of the posters don't use their own name, and most, especially those working in radio, wouldn't want to reveal who they are.

AJ tried to organize this several years ago but wasn't successful.

I wasn't aware of that until today, although I was here in 2001. I must have snoozing.... :) Thanks for the info!!

That said, if any of you using your name--Brian, Jeff in Midtown, Neil, AJ, Rodney, etc.--or anyone not using his/her name is interested, I'm game.

To be fair, I think that would be the case for the employee of any company.

I'd hit it. I was admonished for posting on this board while working at CC, but not sacked... 'cuz after that I knew better.

Maybe we should propose the idea to WGST of having the event on air?

I think I read here they have air time to fill......
______________

LOL Good one! :) I like the idea. Sounds like fun even if we don't always agree. We'd all be sharing time together with people that enjoy the same thing; Radio. What is there for me to be afraid of...I am just a fan I don't work in the business
______________
