Radio-Info's new format

Anyone besides me willing to talk about, and perhaps critique, the revised layout of this website? I thought the test pattern while it was down for redesign was a clever touch.

However, I'm having trouble focusing on the different departments, particularly the industry news, since the page layout seems to be rather unfocused, compared to the obvious box in the prior layout. Also not sure what the point it for cutting the stories into pieces so that you have to move around the site and click "More" to read each one, instead of keeping them all in one box with a teaser.

Main compaint from me is that the type is so small on my laptop now, particularly with the dark background, that I'm probably going to skip over stories that I might have otherwise read. Because I have to strain to read them. Once I find them.

The dancing ads may be the latest internet craze, but the increasing amount of them on this site, (and same goes for Radio World now, too) has this response on me, a person in your target audience: when I start to see people moving inside an advertisement box, I close out of the site. Way too creepy, folks. Likewise, when I'm reading something online, I don't like to have something on which I have no intention of clicking thru dangling shiney things to distract me from what I'm trying to read. Like the traveling M in the format box above this, as I type. What's that for??
And why is constantly moving left left left left. Making me antsy.
Guess I'd better finish up, eh?

Dear moderator: I do hope you don't intend to start making this site look like Yahoo or CNN, with all of the dancing fools in the ad and promo boxes scattered all over the page, crying for help, I mean, for attention. After all, I'm a radio guy, so the visuals better be not only compelling, but add to the story, before I give them the time of day. And, like when reading a radio script (some of us still do that) I need a larger font to be able to breeze through it. Otherwise, you're losing me. Just like the swirling logo bugs on TV are making me turn off the "news," since the dancing insects make me realize it's all just a flea circus of overpaid "personalities," when the money really ought to be going to the actual reporters they've laid off.

Dear internet advertisers: If you look like you're desperate, you will have lost me on your first impression. Credibility is more important than jiggling, unless you're targeting infants. I mean, if I need a new Telos hybrid, I'm really not likely to buy one from you just because your internet ad dances now.

So, there's a few tangents the rest of you can react to, if you like. Can I get any amens here? Otherwise, the Seattle contingent has gotten way to quiet. Is it because of the November in June weather and everyone is too depressed to chatter? Or is this site being supplanted by another? (if so, let me in on where it is, please. )
