Radio Italia Network

Dance station Radio Italia Network (RIN), which disappeared from the dial some years ago (although still operating online), is reported to be returning to the FM dial in parts of Italy from mid January.

The network will initially feature transmitters in the Lombardia, Piemonte, Val d'Aosta, Calabria and Sicilia regions.

2 more transmitters are also on the way soon... Pretty good mainstream Dance station.

The station is already using 4 transmitters (pretty powerful ones too)
Their website is hyping the network a little - in reality it's a regional station for Milan & Lombardia at the moment (92.8, which is on a major mountain site, Valcava) with coverage of a few small towns elsewhere thrown in.

I rather like this station.... I been sneakin around listening to it at work when im supposed to be minitoring our air chain.... My Gm doesnt mind us listening to online US CHR stations, cause we can get an edge on comp that way,,, but I usually have to listen at night when im home..lol LOL Im sure my Gm is reading this right now,,, but actually listening to online stations and monitoring there charts is part of our job,,, but he knows that me and and a few others are huge dance music fans, and that sometimes Dance hits become big at our station, he isnt too concerned as long as we monitor the US Chrs as well..... This is probably the best dance station in italy,,, of course Planet FM is good,, but its really a CHR that leans Dance at night,, and M20 is really underground, and Radio party groove leans on Deep and soulful house.....

I mostly listened to M2O (M due O) on my trip last week and didn't think it was underground at all. It was very mainstream. Great coverage from Genoa (Genova) all the way to Pisa (with a short blank spot along the way) and from Genoa to Milan. Granted it was during the day (not sure about night time). Even the mix that I hard was pretty mainstream - Chris Lake, Captcha, etc..

Also, I wish RIN had a different name as there is also a Radio Italia that plays only italian music. I hated to see Radio Italia on the display only to heard Italian music
