Hi Dog Catcher,

Same old recommendation - the MediaUK website http://www.mediauk.com/discussions/index.muk?c=5 which has regularly updated job listings. You could also try the more unofficial http://ukonair.com/forums/ since many of the best listings are placed on the forums. Other radio specific job listings are circulated within the industry in the Radio Magazine, which might be a worthwhile bet for subscription if you're absolutely serious about this ambition! http://www.theradiomagazine.co.uk/.

It might be worth checking out http://jobs.guardian.co.uk/ (in the media section) also. Some radio groups also publish job openings on their station sites - TLRC is one such company for sure, just check out York's Minster FM via the MediaUK site for example. Other groups to seek out include GWR, Chrysalis and Emap.

All the best and feel free to get in touch if I can help at all,

As someone who looked into this, I would caution it's a challenge to get a work permit for the UK as being an air personality is not a shortage occupation there. I'd love to work in the UK myself, but even if you find a willing employer, they have to comply with the current restrictive UK immigration laws which are only meant to encourage need based and higher end occupations such as executives and medical professionals. Still, best of luck!

Re: be aware...

Americans on British Radio stations do not have the same wow factor as a Brit on a US Station.. I'm on air at Swing FM in Newport, and I admit that being a Brit, I get a lot of compliments from listerners.. Gee anywhere I go in the US the ladies still love it, and I have been here nearly 20 years!

Unfortunately if you are headed to the UK, an American accent does not have that same wow factor!

But good luck - certainly dont want to discourage you!

This site could be a good resource on the legal side of things.
