If any of the readers of this board are so inclined, A wonderful glimpse into the very early days of Radio KHJ, The Times, Los Angeles, California, can be seen in the 41st "Our Gang" short film produced by Hal Roach in 1925. The title of the short is Mary, Queen of tots and features Mary Kornman and Mickey Daniels. This view of KHJ features "Uncle" John Daggett the very first manager of KHJ Radio*, He speaks to tens of thousands and takes no "Back Talk" as an announcer introducing a Playlet entitled "Take Off That Hat" that scares the gang after a radio is turned on by accident. It also shows the KHJ towers as the line "Hey!" "Take Off That Hat" is broadcast to the radio that at the time looks to be a State of the Art" home sound system. This short film is readily available to the public.

*From information found on the web, feel free to update me if he was the first manager or any other facts about his time at the station.

One great thing about working at a Station with Towers...

The first few times I got lost, all I needed to do was look up in the Air. However once I almost found myself at KABC! Thanks for your info!

Your welcome, and by the way if you happen to watch the film you will see what
I was refering to. I highly recommend seeing it! It's as if it was filmed as part of an actual live broadcast from the station, while the film was being made! The segment opens with a woman in the studio finishing playing the piano, and the announcer already at the microphone then proceeds to give the station ID and then introduces the playlet. Too bad this is a silent film as we only get to read what the announcer is saying!
