Radio Korea has purchased WNYZ-LP 87.7 FM for $1.75 million. They had been leasing the station since 2010.

Nope, according to All Access, the operator is an outfit called NY Metro Radio Korea Inc. They seem to be affiliated with Radio Seoul, but I'm not sure if that's the South Korean government broadcaster or some US-based independent entity.

They started broadcasting in NYC over 10 years ago by brokering time on a variety of stations.

They've been on 1660 AM for a long time.

But they moved to the FrankenFM in January, 2015 and are not on 1660 now, apparently.

No. They've been leasing the station since 2010. Now they bought it outright.

Would anyone pay $1.75 million for a "Franken-FM"? Doesn't the FCC keep threatening to eventually end analog Channel 6 TV stations, whether or not they function as FM radio stations?
