Today 2-28-2009 From All Access:

ABC NEWS is reporting the death of radio news legend PAUL HARVEY. HARVEY passed away SATURDAY (2/28) at the age of 90; he had battled health problems in recent years.

I really liked Paul Harvey he was a great voice and will be missed.

Sad, he will be missed.

Just another old white republican that hated blacks, gays and taxing the 2% of rich America.

Not to mention.... I thought he died years ago?

Hearing Paul Harvey, Howard Cosell, Kay Currie, and Frank Gurner daily on WITN/WRRF/WDLX Washington was the 80's version of 'checking the internet'. If I missed tuning to 930 in the mornings, I felt somewhat uninformed until I watched the 6pm TV news.

And Paul Harvey was the glue that held many full-service stations together through the 80's until Rush came along.
Down East, I could tune him in on WPTF, WRNS, WRRF, WQSM, and even WNCT-FM.

Too bad that the last poster had to throw insults at the departed. Except for being old and white, the posting above just isn't true. Mr. Harvey told Nixon to 'kiss it' and even based his show out of a building 'in the slums' of Chicago. He was for abortion rights and unions.

Paul Harvey was middle America. His listeners bought the products in his ad-libbed ads, and the local stations sold spots at a premium during his programs.

RIP Mr. Harvey.
You are already missed.
