Radio Listening Memories

Do you know when they are going to have a website for old radio airchecks for all of Connecticut (including WDRC, WPOP, & mostly airchecks from the FM stations, too. I'm hoping somebody does it so I can listen to them. Catch you later!

Timothy...wow...forgot about that one. There were stations, especially on AM..that wouldn't play it becasue of what it supposedly was about. I do agree though, would be nice hearing some of that obscure stuff..in the year 2525

"Bob and Tom didn't catch on--they hardly ever catch on in the northeast. So, without a strong morning show and classic rock the station's ratings were inconsistent from book to book. Then the format change to Rock AC and the name change to the River, in 2002 I think, changed everything--now a consistently successful station with top rankings with 25-54 adults."

Rule #1...never judge the QUALITY of a radio station by its ratings. Many AM stations with great ratings are there because of syndicated pap. Santitized FM to cater to everybody has no correlation to quality. You simply cant defend Clear Channel for what they have dont to WHCN. A rock legend has gone to the soccer moms.

I miss 88.7 (WNHU) that first semester they were on ther air,oh my...... THE BEST THRASH/METAL i have ever heard on the radio!

I remeber listening to Dr Chris and Jose and the Coach on KC-101. But my fondest memory is the Friday Song on I-95. A bunch of my friends and I worked at the Holiday Inn in Danbury and we did a BBQ Happy Hour there. We would have it cranked up for the Shanty Song and would jump around like freaks with the music blaring. I remember they would do all shorts of shout outs and we would send one in each week.

I-95 still does the Friday song. I look forward to it every week haha.
