I tryed Flock, Google Chrome nothing

How does radio-locator know's how many times you searched??

It tracks you via the IP address. Look into a proxy server.

Also, even if you've hit the site hit limit on radio-locator, you can still view coverage maps if you know the station's callsign.
Basically, the .gif files are located in http://www.radio-locator.com/pats/ but you can't just browse that folder directly. The files are formatted like ZZZZ-YY-XW.gif, where:
ZZZZ = the station's call sign
YY = service - "AM" or "FM"
X = status - "L" = licensed, "C" = construction permit, "F" = canada & mexico.
W = time - "D" = daytime, "N" = nighttime, "U" = unlimited, "C" = critical hours

Is there any place for HD coverage maps?
Since HD is 20 dB below the analog, the radio-locator maps are good. HD will only cover out to the red (60 dBu) contour. It won't be reliable if you're near the edge of the red circle.

Most home and at work radios can't get the analog signal out at the 60 dbu; with HD at -20, I would say that the 68 dbu if not the 70 dbu analog signal range is the limit for HD.

David, what would be examples of some radios you're referring to, and at what listening level? Near 32°45'40"N 116°56'50"W, I'm actually outside the fringe 40dBu radio-locator predicted contours for the stations listed below, yet I heard all of those stations with my Tecsun PL-380 while up on the roof of my house. Each line has the frequency, indicated dBu and dB SNR, call & city of license, and occasional format comment. There were also some signals I could hear that indicated 00,00 but I didn't include those, nor did I include any for which I'm within the 40dBu contour.

Now, granted, not one of them tripped the stereo decoder, and only two had a signal to noise ratio, according to the display, over 4dB, though. Also I'm suspecting I probably picked the wrong time to do the bandscan (around 2-3pm earlier today), as a couple stations which have sometimes tripped the stereo inside the house (101.1 KRTH and 103.3 KVYB) were too weak to have stereo on the roof.
Or is my definition of "can get a signal" ("OH! A carrier!" "Really? All I heard was a slight, almost imperceptible change in the static." "Well, there COULD be a carrier there, let's hook up the outdoor antenna.") different from most other people's definition (I'm guessing something like "Do you hear a little bit of static in the background while the announcer isn't talking? Turn the volume up for a second." "You're right, there is a little bit there. Ok, we can't get this station.")? Also am I probably the only DXer under 60 here? (I'm 29 and have been interested in, and doing some DX since before I was a teenager. My first ever DX catch was KDXU on a very poor quality radio - weak enough so that I almost wouldn't have heard KNX in the daytime from here, and poor enough selectivity so that KECR slopped all over KDXU.) I still have yet to log my first FM E-skip, though.

ran out of edit time on last post... was going to add...
Also, let me guess... you'd probably say the local 2mV/m contour on radio-locator is still too weak for AM reception, right? It isn't for me - I've gotten daytime (noon to about 3pm or so) reception of the following stations, all of which are outside the fringe 0.15mV/m contour. :) I did use the Select-A-Tenna for some, but I can't remember which ones.

So what is it? I don't need 10mV/m to get a usable signal here, or my definition of "usable signal" is different from most people? :)

Tfcwings, your 93.9 is almost certainly KXOS Los Angeles. Not sure why Radio-Locator didn't pick up on it, but that's what it is. Interesting report from your location east of San Diego! More affirmation that these new Tecsun portables with the DSP chip are the real deal. However, I am a little surprised that you got KRTH with that much more of a signal than KBIG. During my various visits to America's Finest City, it seemed like KBIG was the strongest commercial FM from LA - though KRTH was generally in the top 3 or 4.

Nonetheless, interesting report. I didn't have my PL-310 yet when I last traveled to that area, but had my Eton E5 and picked up almost every LA market signal from my QTH in the Encinitas/Carlsbad area. Even KJLH and KDAY. I can just imagine how much fun I'd have had with a PL-310 or 380!!

There also were some frequencies I picked up signals on that were reading 00,00 on the signal level meter... although most of those were so faint that I could barely even tell the carrier was being modulated.

Where I am, there are numerous stations that don't trip the meter (but come in all the time). They come in from the Savannah, Myrtle Beach, and Columbia areas, and are mostly weak, but they aren't listed on the coverage areas.

They are pretty good for AM, showing where the weak spots are. FM, however, can be understated or overstated depending on where you are. Here, it's an understatement, as Charleston FMs can frequently be heard 100 miles.

My method of bypassing the Radio-Locator time limit is using Google's language tools or Yahoo's Babelfish, copy and paste the URL into the 'translate website' box after putting the calls in the search field, for example KIIS-FM would be http://www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/finder?sr=Y&s=C&call=KIIS&x=0&y=0

Choose any language to English and voila! You'll have to manually put in new calls into your browser's address bar, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly.

I don't mind the time limit so much (and will definitely try out some of the work-arounds next e-skip event) but I just wish they'd update the formats in a timely manner. I can't imagine paying their outrageous fees for such outdated information. I've got stations near me that haven't been the format listed any time in the four years I've lived here. But no amount of corroborated submissions from multiple listeners seems to change anything. It makes DXing a little more challenging. ;)

When it comes to formats, I use Wikipedia and radiostationworld.com more. In the last few years Wikipedia has been doing a great job of creating and maintaining articles for nearly all of the radio stations in the country.

On Radio Locator try cleaning your browser history, Go tools then internet options General tab and delete your browser history, This will clean out your cookies saved pass words etc. But when it gets full or to many cookies (small files) that will jam it up. You may have to reboot your browser ( disconnect and close then reopen it. On rare occasion reboot the computer. That may help you at least that works for me. :)

Yes.... INCREDIBLE RADIO-LOCATOR HACK! DID THEY PATCH THAT GLITCH AND YOU HAVE TO WAIT A FULL 24 HOURS EVEN IF YOU DELETE THE HISTORY?
