I just found out that all the ClearChannel stations in Chicago (KissFM, WLIT, etc) are now available on your iPhone as an application! I am so excited about this! It means that I can listen to the radio for free wherever I am! If you guys wants to download the application, go to WLIT.com and type in keyword: iheartradio. I'll keep you guys updated if I hear about anything else exciting. See ya!

Im getting an iTouch fro XMas and this app is definetly going on to my iTouch. So, let me get this straight.......

you can stream to any clear channel radio station LIVE anytime on you iTouch/iPhone? WHOAA........forget about local radio.....this is pretty badass......if this is all true or not. Who knows about CLear Channel, you can never accept anything about them;)

You can also use the following applications on your iphone or ipod touch: Aol Radio (for CBS stations), Flycast and Radiolicious besides iheartradio.

Nice of "itjustme2008" to go through the hassle of setting up a R-I account just to let us know about that. (Go to see that the interns at CC are keeping busy!)

Now I get to pay (my iPhone is not free) for the privilege of listening to 15-minutes per your of commercials. Oh boy!!!

How in the world would you be able to tune around to check other stations while you're talking to someone on the phone?
How could you even listen to the radio while you're on the phone?

Internet Radio has been avail on the iphone for a long time. It's called FSTREAM, an application that can tune into any shoutcast stream online... Clear Channel is not doing anything new except going after a new audience.

ItsJustMe2008 must have one sweet contract that doesn't charge him/her for the data plan charges most iPhone users have to worry about. If you're paying the average $70 +/- a month for the privilege of your fancy phone, that's not really free.

My aunt gave me a device that does the same thing. I think she called it a "transistor radio", but I'll have to contact Apple to see if that's the "market hype" name that should be given to it.

Did you send a thank-you note? That's a great pro-radio industry present your aunt gave you.

The point of iPhone apps that let you hear radio isn't to turn a $300 device into a $5 radio, but to allow you to receive the product on a device that you always carry with you.

I've got a few transistor radios sitting around, too. But they don't always make it into my bag. When I can listen on my iPhone without adding a device, that's a good thing. Especially when it's free.

That's just because you forget to take it. Maybe you should work on that. This all sounds to me like just a bunch of hyped-up crap that nobody really needs. ;)

uhhh... uses the wifi side of the phone...

For being in Chicago, yall aint too bright...

And from looking at some of the earlier posts, the folks in Chicago don't worry much about grammar and spelling, either.

Maybe you're right :)

If the iPhone radio apps weren't free, I'd agree with you. Are the apps, on their own, a good reason to buy an iPhone? No, probably not. But since I HAVE an iPhone, and the apps are free...Well, I have to say, I like them. iHeartRadio (CC) AOL (CBS) Wunderkind Radio and Radiolicious (both different stations and streams) are all great apps.

And when they're free...What's the complaint? If you don't have a device that runs the app, the hype isn't aimed at you, anyway.

Why on earth would you listen to music from CC, CBS or any other commercial broadcaster on your IPHONE when you can get PANDORA.COM Pandora is superior in so many ways especially the audio! Most of the commercial companies streaming are clipped and distorted so bad it's just plain BAD!

Here in houston you can also listen to KKRW 93.7 the arrow on I tunes!!

Personally, I am a huge fan of the "Wunder Radio" app for the iPhone/iPod Touch. You have access to literally every streaming radio station in the WORLD, except for Clear Channel, which for me, makes it PERFECT!

"I HEART RADIO"... yeah right!
