Radio One Charlotte Cluster for sale

It has been speculated that Radio-One has or will divest itself of its properties Q92.7 and Praise 100.9; has anyone heard this?

Radio One has not and will not sell WQNC or WPZS anytime in the near future.

I hadn't yet heard any rumors of a sale, but it wouldn't surprise me. R1's stock has been de-listed for trading below $1 a share for some time now. The problem is- few operators are in a position to buy.

Radio One has laid off several employees and is using voicetracking and syndication for all dayparts on WPZS (except Afternoon Drive 3-7pm Weekdays with program director, Alvin Stowe live and "Friday Night Fire" with Oneway from Promotions live (Friday 7pm-12am)) All weekend programming is voicetracked except Pastor Mike 9-10am Sat. Yolanda Adams and Donnie McClurkin r syndicated. WQNC has Tom Joyner, Warren Ballentine, Al Sharpton and Mo'Nique all syndicated. Moments in Love (7pm-12am) with Ife' Moore is live Sunday-Thursday and voicetracked Friday. 12-6am is voicetracked/automation everyday. Frankie Stone and Stacey Blackman trade off on live shifts. Eddie Owens (7-10pm Sat), Tempo (10pm-12am) and Aiming with Cannon r voicetracked. Chris Gray (Sun 6am-12pm) and Toya Norwood (Sun 12-6am) r voicetracked. The promotions dept is 2 ppl and our entire staff is less than 25 ppl. We r doing every thing possible to compensate w/o cutting jobs but more cuts could b coming. We r struggling but Radio One is not getting rid of the Charlotte properties.
