:D Got you to read!!

For one day these media giants merge together as one to help collect donations for Haiti. Glad to see them come together for once! If you can donate, visit them off I-71 and 17th Avenue exit 111. Just west of I-71 at the Ohio Historical Society.

Thanks!! ;)

97.1 The Fan is also participating. They've been running PSA's all the time, although, I guess they always run PSA's. Lol

I hope Rush Limbaugh or Bubba The Love (?) Sponge don't firebomb the event.

Seriously, great cause and kudos to all three companies.

And that WAS a clever way to draw people to the thread, 376accord ;D.

I'll take the bait. Do you honestly think Rush would be even REMOTELY interested in firebombing that event? Come on...he's got bigger fish to fry -- like the Dumocrats on Capitol Hill.

Yes, I know the comment he made several days ago. I heard him when he made it and within the complete context of what he was saying. I happen to think he's right, but that's beside the point.

It wasn't bait.  Hell, even George W. Bush, a big Rush fan (and vice versa) went on record as saying he was perplexed that Rush would say something like that.  And no, of course I don't believe he would actually firebomb an event.  That's why I started the next sentence with "Seriously," even though it shouldn't have been necessary. Funny how Rush apologists always talk about context, he's misunderstood, blah, blah, but then take a facetious, throwaway criticism as literal -- and even proceed to leave out the context of the critic ("seriously").  The convoluted "logic" of Rush & his Dittoheads boggles the mind.

My apologies, nu_roo. Guess I really should have been studying for today's college classes instead of misreading posts about Rush. ;D ;D ;D

..You wre just using an absurdity to illustrate an absurdity. You'd think Rush Fans would know the drill by now.

Any report on how much the event raised for its worthy cause? As horrendous as this event was, it's nice to see how most Americans and American companies will temporarily put aside divisiveness and competition, and rally together to help the victims of tragedy :).

P.S. because it's too late to edit:  I just realized "as horrendous as this event was" was a poor choice of words.  By "event" I mean the tragedy in Haiti, not the fundraiser.  That's probably obvious, but I didn't want to leave even a small chance of misinterpretation.

Oh, dear. Guess I started something here....

To answer your question, I believe I heard BC say something like $145K was raised. Could be wrong, but I'm thinking that number sounds correct.

142 and change. Not bad. Job well done by Columbus media.

Yes, these companies and their people should take a bow, along with all the Central Ohioans who showed their usual generosity during even when the economic times are tough.
