Could this signal that Radio One is trying to sell some stations. There are rumors that they are trying to sell KSOC and KBFB here in Dallas/Ft. Worth.
wdb2003 said:Sad enough Radio One is about to repeat history another Beat station gone. First KKBT now this one but WPHI has had so many turnovers in its staff it doesnt make any sense. Hip Hop music is focused on the station but really how many morning shows that station has had since its been on the air? Radio One favors its Urban AC and Gospel stations over their Mainstream Urbans and they think WRNB is more vaule than WPHI. As far as Dallas goes I doubt they will sell KBFB but KSOC is a trainwreck even with their new Urban Oldies format. KKDA AM is already filling that void. But 107.9 how far can the signal go in the metro. It's not even over 1,000 watts. I heard the Hot brand is coming to 107.9
wdb2003 said:WRNB has been beating WPHI in the past few ratings so moving them to 100.3 makes sense. Its actually a decent sounding station only syndicated in the morning the rest is live. And when your getting beat buy a Urban Gospel station WPPZ that tells you something. Time for a change. More than likely WPHI format will move to the weaker 107.9 signal under Hot just like in Atlanta and Ricky Smiley's new home. That comedian "Gary With Da Tea Guy" was on in the mornings for a brief moment on KRBV in Los Angeles with Cliff and Diana before the flip to the Sound. Between WUSL and Rhythmic based WRDW there's plently of Hip Hop to go around in Philadelphia.

Isn't POWER 99 syndicated in the afternoons?

I wonder would they flip the frequencies on KSOC and KBFB here in D/FW.

Why?? KBFB ranks higher than KSOC. Its not the signal its the music and programming that needs to be fix on KSOC, Magic or whatever it is now. KBFB sounds fine and the last time I was in Dallas I had no problem picking them up. Compared to KSOC and KRNB good luck listening on a ipod walkman in some areas

KSOC's signal can't be fixed because of the co-spacing rules with 94.1 and 94.9 both on Cedar Hill sticks. Personally I think that Urban AC stations should be on the stronger stick because of the demographics. I have no clue about KBFB because I can't stand the music. Old School 94.5 does appeal to me.

Radio One Atlanta did the same thing couple of yeras ago with our Urban AC, MAJIC 107.5/97.5. PRAISE was moved to 102.5 so MAJIC could have 2 sticks.

Of half the targeted segmented station don't lead in their overall 12+ in most dayparts in PPM because their targeted listeners only listen for about 3-4 hours then turn it off to avoid repetition or because they have better things to do.
Except that Atlanta's "Majic" is explicitly countering the incumbent UAC WALR "Kiss 104.1". But anything to keep the full-service urban rant going, I guess.kilamanjero said:Yeah, even now the 2 signals providing solid coverage of all the core counties in the Atlanta market, Majic is still the lapdog of full-service, urban contemporary, V-103.

Are you expecting 1986 to roll back around again soon? You know that has no chance of happening.
