Radio One executive VP/CFO Scott Royster says his company has a “95% probability” of selling “non-strategic” radio stations, “assuming we can find a buyer.” He put a rough value on those stations at between $100-$200 million.
Without naming specific stations or markets, Royster told a Bank of America audience that some of these stations are those “that aren’t necessarily 100% consistent with the strategy of the enterprise.” Offering another clue to likely sales candidates, he said, “We’re an urban [business] and we actually own some stations that are not urban.” Other possible sell-offs, Royster said, might be some stations in its portfolio that were acquired as part of a group deal.
