Radio One/Atlanta has notified clients that they will be announcing *something* on Monday. The release hints it will affect both Majic and Boom.
My guess? They will move boom from 102.9 to 97.5 and the Majic simulcast from 97.5 to 102.9. They are relocating the Boom antenna to Fayette County.
The only reason for the current 107.5/97.5 simulcast is that 107.5 disappears for several miles on I-85 in the vicinity of the 107.9 transmitter site. Why waste a full station (97.5) to cover those several miles when a translator could work perfectly fine?
I could be wrong, however, about what the announcement will be. We'll find out on Monday.
