Radio One to Make Moves on Monday

They have to be telling the truth because they're saying it on the air. Market Manager Bruce Demps has announced that Steve Harvey and Michael Baisden will move to 107.5 on Monday. Also on Monday, 97.5 will start its simulcast with 107.5. Presumably that means that Praise will move to 102.5 the same day.

No mention was made of middays and evenings. Everyone's guessing SiMan will move there for one of those shifts. Carol Blackmon and Magic Man have also been mentioned as possible hosts.

When did PRAISE 97.5 and 102.5 GROWN FOLKS RADIO give notice to listeners they were switching stations? I never did hear any commercials nor jocks talking about the move. I did hear a top of the hour ID on 102.5 Saturday night saying "WAMJ Mableton, Grown Folks Radio is Majic 102.5." I was wondering why it said "Majic 102.5"??

I know for sure that Praise ran some liners about the change Friday evening, including some recorded by morning host/singer Yolanda Adams. I only made spot checks over the weekend to see if 102.5 and 97..5 made announcements and to see if 102.5 would simlucast 97.5fm. I did hear Steve Harvey on Praise 102.5 just after midnight today tell listeners that he will now be on 107.5/97.5fm.
Radio One just handled this stupidly even though the end result will prove to be a good move. Not to give Praise some simlucast time to move listeners over was a mistake but fans will find the station.

It would've been nice if the budget allowed them to do an avertising campaign. I remember about 2 years ago Steve Harvey Morning Show on 102.5 and The A-Team morning show on HOT 107.9 were being advertised all over ATL. From billboards on the highways and all over various Marta buses, trains and bus stop areas.
