Maybe not as big a problem in music radio as it will continue to be in newstalk radio, but stripping so much local talent in favor of syndicated fare, is giving listeners little to NO incentive to continue depending on terrestrial radio for entertainment.
There are too many alternatives these days to stay loyal to radio---even satellite radio---which the industry definitely considers a threat, is worth the nominal monthly fee considering the vast amount of choices in both music and talk programming.
The short term interests and concerns of CEO's held hostage by Wall Street has this indusry mortgaging it's future in an attempt to try and meet unrealistic profit goals today.
NOBODY at the top who matters seems to care in the least.
