I just ran across this clip on YouTube of Paul Dixon. Being a former DJ, to me he exemplifies the "entertainer personality" I remember from my youth. I once saw Mark Bingamon emceeing at "Picnic with the Pops" and he seemed to have the same kind of upbeat entertainer personality. I have two questions for you guys "in the biz."
1. Do people like this still work in the business and, if so, why doesn't their personality show over the air anymore?
2. Paul Dixon looks like he is genuinely having fun. Are there any local entertainers who could pull this off today? Would a show like his work in this day in age? Probably not as a Cincinnati-centric show, but maybe one day a week each in Columbus-Cincinnati-Dayton-Indianapolis to get the ball rolling?
