Knoxradiolstnr said:It gets aggravating sometimes when a DJ (or a morning team - not gonna mention any names) talk WAY too much and they mainly talk about their personal problems. I have enough problems without having to hear someone else's on the radio in the morning. A little talk is ok but if they're gonna talk, it should be about things going on locally, throw in some humor to make us smile, give us some unknown facts and information about the songs they're playing - tell where the band members are now or how the band started out or what inspired them to write whatever song they just played - stuff like that would be more interesting then hearing about a hot water heater leaking! Oh and another pet peeve is the whole John Boy & Billy show! Oh my god! I'm not gonna even get started on that thing. The only part of that show worth listening to is Robert D. Raiford (hope I spelled that right).
JB&B...ugh...I just puked in my mouth a little. I had to do the board op/local side news for them in a major market, and while I was thankful for the gig (I love news) that show was terrible. Liked Raiford, hated the rest. Every listener call and email I recieved was filled with hatred toward them, especially when they would break format and play country songs on their classic-rock feed (for those of you who don't know they have a country and a classic rock feed). What did they want to hear instead? Music and local content!
Syndicated morning radio is the biggest scam in the industry, and my radio pet peeve.
