As one option for the PC platform you should take a look at Station Playlist.

www.stationplaylist.com

There's a demo there you can download to see if it suits what you want to do.

Stationplaylist is hard to beat for the price. Take a look at the review I wrote for broadcast trade Radio World:

Also, from what I recall I thought people had it running on Intel-based Macs using Darwine. It may also work within the Parallels virutal machine environment as well as a Windows partition (you'll need an Intel Mac for the options I've mentioned).

You didn't say what your budget was - but if you don't have a lot of money, ZaraRadio is a good choice (and it's free). Rivendell is also free but runs on Linux (which may be a challenge for some to set up).

For low cost - I'll concur with Bill on StationPlaylist. If you have a little more to spend - get Player101 from RCS (formerly NexGen 101).

I'll add my vote to StationPlaylist as well.

Also, you can consider SAM (SpacialAudio www.spacialaudio.com), many internet stations use this and it works well. It can use clockwheels and basically run unattended for long periods of time by selecting tracks from categories and playing ID's etc as you see fit. It also has a powerful scripting language(PAL) which attached to the event scheduler.

I ran SAM for a couple of years, but turned to StationPlaylist because I prefer the playlist handling and it thinks more like a broadcaster (if that makes sense)!

I'll 2nd the OTSAV! Excellent program. The 'tightest' I've seen to not have to put in crossfade triggers. We use it on 1 commerical FM, and 3 stream only stations.
