Radio question for both Worcester area and Providence

I did a day trip today from greater Hartford through Worcester towards Boston and then down to Providence. Two things about the radio caught my attention:

WTAG-AM 580 was being relayed by 94.9 along I-90 near Millbury and Exit 10A. The signal was weak yet it was in too long to be a translator. Any ideas?

WPRO-AM 630 of Providence now simulcasts on 99.7 FM of Wakefield/Peacedale, RI? What happened to the Sports format as WSKO-FM? ("99.7 vs. Score" ?)

It's a 230 watt translator transmitting from a prime location, Asnebumsket Hill, so it covers some ground. It's being discussed on the Massachusetts state board.

99.7 is now WEAN, simulcasting WPRO-AM. "The Score" sports format is gone. Some discussions about it a few pages back on the Providence board, as the flip happened a few weeks ago.

"The Score" is gone from 790 AM too, which is now WPRV, running the "True Oldies Channel" satellite.

Thanks for the updates! I was also in Boston last Tuesday and hadn't tuned the dial while in the Worcester metro (had the radio on WJMN-FM from Boston).

Yankee Baseball , is still on 790 AM ( Yeah ) .

The 94.9 translator for WTAG comes in on seek near the jct of Hill St. and Central TPKE in Northbridge (about 12 mi SE of Worc Ctr and about 16 mi from the translator) It's a pretty high elevation but WAAF doesn't come in on seek in some spots at the intersection which is well within the city grade signal map and much closer transmitter location than 94.9.
