Pretty darn good across the board. Most FM stations are on Mt. Beacon (north of the GG Bridge) and the rest of them are either on Sutro Tower or Mt. San Bruno. All of those sites have a direct line of sight into San Francisco. Most San Jose stations will be in the mud, but I'll let someone else comment on that if they want.

All AM stations do very well into SF so you should be fine.<P ID="signature">______________

The san jose stations don't come in well in SF? What about DXing? Can I get anything far away on FM when the weather is clear? What about AM at night? Can I pick up stuff from Seattle, L.A?

For stations far away (Car Radio) Mostly San Jose, I could picked up 2 stations from Salinas Market, which are KDON 102.5 and KWAV 96.9. If you want to picked up Sacramento stations, you have to go over the Berkley Hills since the hills are blocking the signal towards San Francisco. As for Dxing at night, I can hear KOMO AM 1000 from Seattle, 1190 KEX from Portland, KNX 1070 and KFI from Los Angeles, and KFMB 760 from San Deigo. As for Dxing like the Midwest or East Coast, I don't think its possible for E-Skips in west coast, its kind of a rare thing down hear.

Agreenbe,

The real answer to your question can only come from somebody living on the block of Lombard St where you will be staying. The topography of San Francisco being what it is, out of town FM signals will come in strong in some neighborhoods, but not in others. Where I live (south side of Bernal Heights), most of the San Jose stations come in loud and clear, especially K-Fox (98.5) and KEZR (106.5). K-Fog's 97.7 south Bay repeater comes in as strong as their local 104.5 frequency. KSJO did too, and I assume 92.3 still does, but I'm not a fan of Ranchero music. I rarely tune in San Jose stations when driving around because they fade in and out depending on the neighborhood.

I also get clear over the air signals from both San Jose TV stations (NBC 11 and KICU 36), and Channel 8 in Salinas/Monterey. I can't get San Francisco TV stations without cable or satellite. Come to think of it, I haven't tried tuning in NBC 11 over the air since they moved their tower closer to SF.

Good luck.
