Their website is already gone.

Anyone know of an alternate source for a free weekly country music top 40 or top 60 list? Many small stations relied on the R&R freebie.

Try asking your music director to create one based on what fits your market and demo. It's how they used to do it. It might even be *gasp* localized instead of national.

Ironically, that was a nail in the coffin. Just like newspapers, R&R offered content on-line so there was no need to subscribe to the physical copy. Besides, they sat there and allowed the web to pass them by.

The record ad revenue went away when the big corporates bought more and more radio stations and controlled those playlists from headquarters instead of locally. Fewer heads choosing what hit the air.

The R&R site now has a letter from one of the big titles at Neilson Media, who states that the programming format charts you are interested in are still going to be published by Billboard.

Of course, it should come as no surprise that you can't access that chart information unless you pay for it.

You don't think that had anything to do with eliminating the competition that was R & R in favor of a more monopolized product, do ya? ::)

But as ten_four pointed out, there's allaccess.com. I signed up for it (free) & was able to access the current charts. This would be a great opportunity for radio-info to drive even more traffic here...a "Charts" tab would get this place bookmarked by virtually every current music station in the land.

R & R's charts became less important when most stations started using the detailed real time airplay info Mediabase provides.
