Radio Reunion

L

Lovett Blvd

Is there a Houston radio reunion planned for this summer??
I've heard 97Rock is having one (a kind of 29th anniversary).

I saw something of Facebook about a reunion of radio folks on Lovett Blvd-so, I assume those would be KTRH/KLOL/KILT am-fm folks. Looks like a small affair, kind of a no-host at a Montrose bar.

Col. St. James informed me of a 97 Rock Reunion-in March of this year, I think.

As for the REAL Houston radio reunion, due to all these other events, plus the recent Houston/Texas Radio Hall of Fame, we may push that to next year. –I’m thinking 2011 Crawfish Boil!

Are you kidding me?

****I assume those would be KTRH/KLOL/KILT am-fm folks. Looks like a small affair****

Good grief Josh. At least half the people who've ever worked in Houston radio has done time with at least one of those stations. Me included.

They'll need a bigger bar. (lol)

I wonder if I'm the only one who was regularly on all four stations (though not at the same time!).

Geez, Filio, maybe I shouldn't have moved around so much, huh?

Sometimes you get moved around whether you like it or not.

I've done my share of moving around too Mike. I did two hitches at KTRH -- a decade apart. Once in the mid and late 70s, under Manager Hal Kemp and News Director Ben Baldwin. I quit because I hardly ever saw my wife, and the next thing I knew I was working in east Texas.

I worked at KTRH again in the late 80s and early 90s under completely new management. I never worked at KILT, but I wanted to, and I applied there a few times.
