I have mixed feelings about SASS. Like it or not, we DO live in a sped-up society. Remember the rap against USA Today when it came out? People were upset about their short story length. And don't radio & TV newscasts now deliver more short stories instead of lengthy full reports? We sit on our sofas and speed click thru TV channels. We have a shorter attention span than ever before.
I think a well-edited shortened song can be fun to listen to. I do have some questions about compromising the artist's control over their product, but I know that over the years record companies have sent out shortened DJ copies of songs to get more airplay.
If I owned a station I'd give this technique a shot to create a buzz.
