OK, so as I watch Bill O'Loughlin struggle with his talk show on Channel 2, it gets me to thinking about who in the past has been successful converting a radio show to TV and who has failed.
I always thought Don Imus did nice work on MSNBC before the infamous quote that got him suspended and eventually fired from his radio/TV gigs. He's back, but I really don't know how he's doing now on TV since I hardly ever see his show now (what network is it even on? I honestly don't know.)
Howard Stern's attempt to do his show in half hour blocks on E! seemed to do well with hardcore Stern fans but I don't know how well it was received by the average fans.
Any local radio shows on the air now worthy of an outlet on TV? I'm thinking maybe Schopp & Bulldog, Janet Snyder and the Kiss morning team, Tom Bauerle and maybe Sandy Beach would have a chance to shine on the boob tube, but of course the chances of that happening somewhere not on public access is not very likely.
National radio talent? I think Rush does some type of simulcast on his website already, but how about Opie & Anthony or some of the other satellite radio shows? Perhaps Dennis Miller could pull it off based on his past work on Saturday Night Live?
Just a different topic to throw out there... note I did NOT mention W**K at all!
