Radio station carolers

My memory is fuzzy one this so hopefully I didn't just dream it, but didn't some Providence station used to run an annual promotion where staff members would come over to your house & sing Christmas carols? I'm guessing if it wasn't a dream, it had to be in the 70s which would probably mean it would have been WPRO-AM. Anyone else remember this?

This promotion would have been a hoot if radio boards were around then. All it would have taken would be for one winner to heavily spike the nog, hand it out to the carolers, then watch what happens & post about it the morning after.

Not that one...but it WAS in the late 1960's that one the management of
one local station (yes, I worked there) threw a champagne and "goodies"
party on Christmas Eve, starting at about 3pm. It was in the studio
building. EVERYONE took part. The afternoon traffic shift gradually
deteriorated and culminated with the staff (those still standing)
joining together to try to sing the 5pm newscast with some
off-the-wall Christmas Instrumental as background. Miraculously,
all those who attempted to get home that night did so, though many
wives came to the station to pick them up.......

Ah to be young and stupid again!<P ID="signature">______________
