Radio Station for Cats Only

OK, CT radio guy here checking out the cat comment (we have 6 and I'm in the AZ boards to keep up with fave KYOT which I listen to often).

With that established...

Cats listen to OLDIES, at least mine do. They have managed to turn on the stereo in the past and, with their washed paws at the ready, manage to hit the search function until the local oldies station comes up. They also have hung around the speakers when I do my Sunday oldies show from WINY-Putnam CT (winyradio.com). But cats aren't the only listeners to the format it seems...

...but it does lead one to wonder why we aren't hearing Meow Mix commercials on oldies radio. Missed opportunity for the sales department.

Because maybe our senior citizens might find the food appealing and try and eat it! With a few extra ingredients, Chuck Wagon makes a delicious meat loaf. :-X

OK, good one...

Chuck Wagon should be airing on most stations these days. Many stations have formats so tired and pathetic that they're going to the dogs. :D

You obviously weren't listening to Oldies guy Bill Gardner on KOOL in Phx as he pitched for Purina Cat Chow oh so many times. He has a cat named Pupuke (poo-POO-kee) or summat.

Unfortunately, Bill was a victim of C(BS) manslaughter in February and is no longer on KOOL and I haven't heard that ad since he left.

That's OK, you can still listen to uhhhhhhhh, Bruce Jacobs butcher the uhhhhhhh,
Purina Dog Chow live reads, mornings about 6:20 on uhhhhhhhh, 55/FYI.

Bonus aural torture: on alternate days it's AT&T. ;)

My car radio only tunes to one FM station (KOOL) except when I ask it realllllll nice it might go to KSLX.

No reason to go to KFWhyWouldI. I'm still bitter they bumped KOY off 550.

Lauren,

Thanks for the clarification. Things don't stay in memory as long as they used to. ;D

Hearing BG do that Purina commercial took me back to the early days when most ads were announcer-read (on TV as well as radio). You still hear a few people do it (Paul Harvey comes to mind) but mostly commercials tend to be slick voice-over productions.

We used to have a cat but I haven't seen it since the last BBQ. ::)

It's actually Popoki. Hawaiian for cat. Cute!

So the now-defunct website used for the promotion
(mycatpopoki.com) would actually be "my cat cat"?

Kind of like when Deputy Dan reports traffic problems
up there on Table Table Road. ;)

Not to be confused with our local media celeb streets
such as Camelback Jack Road and Beth McDonald Drive.

Or my fave area street, waaaaay out in A.J.:
Crismon And Clover Road. ;D
