Radio station proliferation

Hi all

With the unbelievable proliferation of radio stations around the world within the last 20 years, with some areas having very very crowded radio bands, do you ever think we will see a reverse in this trend & actually see the number of stations actually be reduced?

This is certainly a way to reduce our electricity consumption! - maybe we need to see a re-introduction of stations closing down for the night instead of running 24/7.

Your thoughts?

Why would radio stations start powering off at night again? This makes no sense...many of us have large audiences during the night. These people deserve radio service just as much as the people who listen during morning drive.
