radio station websites

Who do you think has the best and worst station websites ?

I like The Mountains' and BHT personally. The Mountain website appears calming/relaxed and seems to be the most personalized/customized for an individual listener.

BHT on the other hand, it looks like they went all out and spent some big dollars on their website. It is a "in-your-face" type of design, with lots of attention to detail.

2 different companies, 2 different stations, 2 different looks, but they both appear good in their own way.

Generally two kinds of websites in this market.

Slick at first glance, cookie-cutter corporate one size fits all...and amateurish. Which one(s) are amateurish? I'm not saying. You know who you are. Well some of you do. Others there wouldn't recognize amateurish if it bit them in the haunch.

I've always felt that if the station didn't make the investment in streaming and in a database/listener club that are housed on the website, it will never be much more than an email portal for requests and a place to bury contests and promotional giveaways that were not desireable enough by those in charge to make it on the air.

Re: radio station websites - I'll say it!

WQFM has one of the cheesiest sites I've seen in a long time. The site has not changed in 8 or 9 months with the exception of Chris Barnes face on the page. It really isn't a web site. It's more of a web page. Just one page! No interaction available to interested listeners who might want to read a bio of Barnes or info about the station. I had hoped for more out of this station.

Not much on any of their sites really, save for ads.

ESPN Radio? A dog's breakfast.

Rock107? There's some content there, the morning D&W show such as it is, etc., but the actual website looks like the 8th grade computer class project.
