Radio Stations for Sale Can anyone help me out

Friends and Colleagues

I need your help once again. Does anyone know of any stations for sale. I believe I read on the board where a station sold for $18,000.

Is there a website where stations are listed or do any of you owners know other owners who would be willing to talk terms for a first time station owner.

Thank you as always my friends

The Shady Nation

Just remember that the terms printed in public are not always the full details in reality. There may be other considerations that don't get published.

That said, I am certain there are some stations available really cheap right now.

Here's a synopsis of the 2009 Primer Of Radio Station Purchasing: Make a couple of sandwiches and come join me on the Courthouse steps ....... the ordered auction will begin shortly per the direction of bankruptcy judge.

;D

Thanks so much Guys

Stewy- I may come see you anyway I'm thinking of coming back to Troy, UAB has been fun but Troy was my school first and I will admit it I miss the Troy Women lol ;)

Chris- Thanks for the heads up I don't know if I could even do this but its worth a shot I have seen too many good people lose their gig for no good reason. If I could be one of those owners that still believes in Live and Local and keep people in a job and make a few dollars then thats good with me.

Mr McCall- Thank you very much sir you and I have talked before and If I am able to continue my quest to be a station owner I would really value your opinion, experience and input. If i have any questions would you mind if I emailed you? Thank you again sir

Shady,

Sure, it's fine to email me. Address is in my profile.

Best wishes to you!

Shady,

It's your Beacon Pkwy Subway buddy here....

Don't get sucked in to the idea about buying a station for 18k or even 180k.... it will be as you mentioned "live and local".... it will be Shady 24/7....

It takes an incredible amount of resources to do this these days.

Thank you again guys.

No I wouldn't waste anyone's time your right it is rude and unprofessional.

Terry- Hey whats going on buddy long time no see. Yeah I'm sure your right its just an idea I have been kicking around for sometime.

Again I really thank you all for your input I figured my radio vets could tell me what I needed to know

Put your money into gold, you will get a better return.
To buy a medium or large market station will take anywhere from $10,000,00 to $300,000,000 depending on the market. (5% are owned by just a few major companies (cumulas, etc.).
You can get a small market (can you say 1,000 watt daytime AM) station for MUCH less...which is because it is hard as heck to make a profit with one and you will work yourself to death.
For the $18,000 you mentioned, you might find a small market construction permit in the boonies...or a bankruptcy sale without realestate.
sorry...these are the facts.
Wait a few years for the big corps to start folding and dropping properties for much less.

I'd have to think you'd have an easier time of being a community broadcaster (with a sophisticated LPAM setup) or an internet broadcaster than trying to buy some old terrestrial station.
