Radio Stations not acknowledging their sister stations on the air

For example hen Cox was running promos for the WMMO Downtown Concert earlier this year. On WMMO they said it was the WMMO Downtown Concert featuring Huey Lewis. On sister station Star 94.5 they just said it was a Huey Lewis concert being held downtown. With no mention of the WMMO brand or the downtown concert series.

What it have been more clever to say sister station WMMO is having Huey Lewis do a show as part of the Downtown Concert series.

Is Cox trying to pretend that all 6 radio stations they own in Orlando are owned be different companies. You know to make the listener think there is competition between them. Hotel companies do this is well, for example Choice Hotels. A Comfort Inn would be right next to a Sleep Inn, whats the difference between the two hotels. Both are 2-star and $80 a night, both have the same rooms, amenities and so on. You can even ask "What is the difference between this hotel and the one next door" to the person at the front desk at the Comfort Inn. They would sometimes even say "There isn't a difference, Choice Hotels just needed more Hotel rooms to cover the needs of the community."

I know WXTB/ 98 Rock in Tampa will air commercials adverting sister station Mix 100.7. Or in Ocala WMFQ/ 92Q would advertise contests that sister station WTRS is running.

I noticed that this seems to be primarily a thing with Cox. Cox would also do this with their Tampa cluster. Last year Cox held a Beer and Wine Fest called Pointnoir for The Point. They used the same promo to advertise the event on WWRM and I believe WDUV. Only they removed the PointNoir name and just called it a Beer and Wine fest.

I'm kinda' wondering why would WCFB even mention there's a Huey Lewis concert at all? Sister station or not.

Seems weird to me because both stations serve entirely different demographics. WWKA or the old WHTQ I could see though.

The only benefit I see is promoting the News/Talk station (on Music Stations) in the advent of a National Emergency or Hurricane or something like that allowing the Music Stations to continue as normal.
