With the end of Analog Television in 2009, in my hometown we lost the audio of our CBS affiliate (Channel 6) which used to be heard at 87.7 FM. Many times the past two years I've been in my car during severe weather angered that I don't have the option to tune in at noon, 5, 6 or 11p anymore (or early mornings, for that matter).
I think WRAL/Raleigh is still simulcasting some news on a radio station there. Are there similar TV/Radio simulcast relationships in your town or that you know of currently?
I think in communities where commutes are lengthening, a local radio station providing a news simulcast at 5 or 6p would be a good service, esp. if they don't have the staff to do one themselves (which in the "post-consolidation era" of radio is usually the case....)
