Radio Stations That Go By Their Domain Names

Does this annoy anyone else? "104-1 therockofneworleans.com" I know CC is doing this in a few places. Any other companies doing it?

While internet can be and should be an important part of any station's branding, to use their website name on the air as the main positoner seems a bit over the top to me. Unless it is more basic, like Mix102dotcom, etc.

I don't even like the informal ID's yet.

I could give a %$#@ about froggy or luv but I do want to know WHERE I'm listening to,
the CALL letters, and some reference to frequency is appreciated.

Let the people use their browsers to find streams, don't let a domain name become the radio presence.

Kankakee/Chicagoland's WONU 89.7 does this. They brand as "Shine.FM" or "89.7 Shine.FM," hardly ever using calls WONU.

When did WONU start doing that? Because WSAE over here in Michigan has been going by Home.FM since January 2004... just wondering which station started the stupidity.
