Radio Stations That Went Through Major Changes This Year

What are some radio stations that went through major changes this year? My local CHR, 103-5 KISS FM went through some major changes this year.

February 2006- Tic Tac and The Freakshow of (WKQI) Channel 955 are hired for the afternoon show. This was a move made by Consultant Steve Perun. The current afternoon dj, Nikki was moved to middays where she started at Kiss FM in 2003.

March 2006- Tic Tac and The Freakshow quit becasuse of Contract problems and becasue Tic Tac was not getting along with PD Rod Phillips.

Late March 2006- Rod Phillips is fired and Consultant Steve Perun is named Interm PD.

Early April 2006- Tic Tac returns to Kiss FM with new a set of hosts along with him on his Freakshow.

April-May 2006- Live remotes hosted by Tic Tac and the Freakshow are happening on Thursday and Friday nights. This is the first time Kiss FM has done weekly live remotes. DJ Melle Mel who also works as a mixer for Channel 955 in Detroit is brought in as a mixer for the remotes.

May 2006- Coco Cortez who worked at KISS from 2002-2004 is heard doing weekends and overnights. This was for the recent overnight spot opening because Music Director, Smash who was voicetracking overnights was moved to the 10AM-Noon shift. Coco did not take the gig. Alexx Dupri of sister station WGCI took the gig. Former Z100 Jock Billy Hammond was also hired for weekends.

June 2006- Rick Gillette was hired as PD. Steve Perun was let go as Consultant and Dom Theodore, VP Of Programming for Clear Channel Detriot was hired as Consulatant.

Late June 2006- Tic Tac started doing the Friday Free For All. Old school music from the 90's was being played and the listeners loved it.

Early July 2006- Tic Tac and the Freakshow were fired. Nikki was put back to afternoons and the search was on for a new afternoon DJ.

July 2006- Kiss FM changes it's name from 103.5 KISS FM to 1035 KISS FM, Chicago's Hit Music Space.

August 2006- It was announced that Kannon of Wired 96.5 in Philly was the new afternoon dj. Nina Chantel of Casa 106.7 in Dallas was also hired for the Noon-4PM shift. Nikki was fired. Days later, it was announced that Kannon would remain in Philly due to contract issues.

October 2006- Ty Bentli who used to work at stations in Texas, Minnesota, and was currently working off air as as a VP for Global Records in LA was hired as the afternoon dj.

All of those changes in just 10 months! What are some other radio stations that have gone through major changes this year??

103.5 definitely went through the most changes this year, and I'm sure this isn't the last of them.

Tic Tak is a great DJ, anyone know what he's up to now?
