Radio studio in Morton Grove in the mid 80's

I remember as a kid, probably around 1985-1987, going to a baseball card store in Morton Grove on Waukegan Rd. I remember in the back of the store, there was a radio studio, usually the curtains were drawn and the room was dark, but sometimes something would be going on. But I have no idea what this was. Can anyone help? Who used this studio and for what purpose? The amount of time the studio was dark makes me think it was just for a weekly show maybe?

Not sure about Morton Grove (you may search w/Google) but I remember MANY "time brokers" who had studios in their places of business and broadcast weekly and/or daily. Your memory of the "studio" could be the same kind of thing.

Joe Migalwa of "Radio Halls" on Belmont (near wsbc) did a 6 day a week hour long program from his business, broadcast on WOPA. His family later owned WCEV. "Orbit Travel" (I believe the mans name was Adam Gregorzewski") did a 6 day a week program on WOPA from his agency on Pulaski near Milwaukee.

The "Over 30 Dance" had a weekly remote broadcast on Saturday night over WBBM.

"Lucy's Wisconsin Rendezvous", "Polonia Grove" "The Baby Doll Polka Lounge" with the Korosa brothers, Eddie and Johnny (on Archer,) and "Bel Aire Music Store" all had radio programs on WTAQ and/or WOPA every week. In the 1960's Chet Gulinski broadcast his polka show every Sunday morning for many years from "Heights Restaurant" on Gunnison in Harwood Heights over wopa (crowd there was standing room only).
