Other goodies....NY POST reports PHIL MUSHNICK is on a two week vacation. Phil writes about radio/TV sports in NYC...WFAN's JERRY RECCO was on ch 4. WNBC-TV NEWS Sunday morning for interview promoting the folks to tune in to their HD ch. I believe the HD show was at 8:30am. I coundn't watch. I don't get HD....Speaking of Shannon. Very funny story from his first year in NYC back in 1983 to 1984. I remember the Zoo folks poking fun of Scott one morning. Scott came from Tampa (Q-105). He wore shorts. If ya ever lived in Central Florida, 90% of the time folks wear shorts. So the Z-100 Zoo Crew was wondering about this Shannon dude. It was Janaury or February 1984 and Shannon is still wearing shorts when coming to work as PD/HEAD ZOOKEEPER. PROF. JOHN B. BELL was cracking up. John was a holdover from the prior format. So if ya see Scott in the near future in the halls of WPLJ or call the studio line...ask him if he still wears shorts in February. lol...More Shannon stuff. Look-a-likes. Shannon & CNN's AMERICAN MORNING host JOHN ROBERTS....Memo to WFAN/YES/WNBC-TV's MIKE FRANCESA: Great show!!!! "MIKE'D UP" is the best weekend sports recap show. ch 5. should NOT call their sports show "SPORTS EXTRA"!!!! This current show is nothing like the great one BILL MAZER/LEE LEONARD did. Sorry DUKE!...What do the folks think of BOOMER & CARTON? Will they last on 660AM WFAN? Please put in your 2 cents...If ya ask me, I'm not sold. I enjoy when WFAN's JOE BENIGNO is on SNY as a guest on DAILY NEWS LIVE & 1050am WEPN's BRANDON TIERNEY is there too. If those two guys ever got together on the radio...hummmmmmmm....2 Alpha males....SIRIUS got major free press on CNN's LARRY KING LIVE program. Larry was off. First guest was VINNIE POLITAN from SIRIUS CLIENT 9 RADIO...A.J. HAMMER, anchor of CNN HEADLINE NEWS' SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, is much better on TV. He did radio work for 95.5 WPLJ & Z-100. He's made for TV. We give him 4 STARS!!!! See Ya!
