I had most of the day off (same tomorrow - hellllo sunshine!) so I listened to KIRO a bit on & off today.

I love it when guys talk tough on the radio. The whole Doris rant where she said (maybe 20 times) "that guy deserved a punch in the face" or "aren't there times you want to punch someone in the face?"

Ahhhh, the joys of microphone muscles. Don't ya love it when a pudgy gas bag sits in a secure CR and hollers how he would "punch Bale in the face?"

I could go on and on but - whatta load. He ain't EVER punchin' ANYONE.

And as long as we're on KIRO -

I listened to Ron & Don yesterday, a bit more than an hour. They have become unlistenable. It's like the radio version of Laurel & Hardy. The high voiced goofy guy and the gutteral manly man. Yack, yack, yack and more yack. Is Luke Burbank contagious? Does KIRO think two grown men giggling like cloistered school girls while discussing who they dated back in the day was - IMO, at least - incredible. THIS is what masquerades as KIRO today? God help us all. After 12 noon, KIRO is a vast wasteland.

Talk Radio is putting too many FM ROCK morning shows on. Wasteland YES!

I think it might be guys in charge of Talk stations are straining to be "hip" and not making it. You know, the guy with the Arrow shirt from Penny's and a TJ Maxx tie, trying so hard to get younger demos and thinking they can just put anyone from a music station and let it rip. Sometimes that works. I guess overall KIRO's numbers are decent so there's no urgency to pay attention to any criticism. But I'm willing that might change - sooner, rather than later.

I cked out Ron & Don this PM for 15 minutes and just couldn't take it. They were RERUNNING a lame fake Bachelor interview with their "producer" that ran yesterday. The first time it was painful, the kind of thing we did back in DJ school and thought was entertaining.

My oh my.
