THANK YOU! This precious! It's already one of my favorite airchecks. "Petticoats of Portugal"? Just a reminder that people can have selective memories about how much good music there was on the radio.

Don Pitts must've been something else to be able to get Bob Hope to do a promo for him. Hope was at the top of his game at the time. And Jimmy Durante? Gosh.

Also, the telco lines sounded pretty good at the end of the ABC broadcast. It sounded local. In later years network quality (or Long Lines quality actually) went down, especially with ABC which was prone to "ringing" of the lines.
