Radio Your Way LX: Anybody have this?

Has anybody tried "Radio Your Way"?? I've read mixed reviews, but according to most, the new version is pretty good. You can aircheck directly to mp3 and upload them via USB. It's like Tivo for radio, since you can time it to record shows etc...

It really sounds like an airchecker's dream. No more lugging around cumbersome cassette tapes and boomboxes on trips! Wish I had a job...I'd buy one!

I don't have one but I really like the timer feature, I wish my Archos had a timer feature.

One problem I see with this unit though is the storage space...either 128mb or the 512mb...that's less than a standard CD-R. The 34 hours advertised on the 512mb model must be like a 32KB bit rate, which would not sound to great for FM or even AM.

I have one! Yes, the 32KB rate sounds like a phone. 64 is okay. I normally use 96, FM quality, it sounds like an internet stream though. I didn't want to use 512 because I seemed to run into problems with error messages. I use 128 but only for short files. You gotta monitor it because for some reason it stops recording automatically without warning sometimes.

Once I record the aircheck I transfer it to CD or cassette.

The radio isn't very good. It only pulls in locals at best. You can hook it up to a better portable radio though.

Still I think it's better than recording to a cassette as I did in the past.
