Radio

ok..what do you like and dont like as far as music on the radio right now..

like..third day..

dont like..unsure..havent heard point of grace any this month..things are improving :)

I think the Jeremy Riddle and Mat Kearney songs are potentially evolutionary for the format and am definitely interested in seeing how they do. Strangely, though, I seem to be catching some number of stations looking backward rather than forward.

dont know but i think that may be happening because the music being released is a lot hotter than say 5 years ago. i am a rocker and some of the stuff on now i even like. meaning..it aint slow! and some of these stations may be kind of freaking out over some of it. the third day i was referring to in the previous post would not have made it on the air on an ac station in 1996. they sure wouldnt have played their version of creed (rich mullins)back then! they may be a little afraid some of the music will drive away sales therefore they are reverting back to familiar favorites.

No, that's not exactly what I meant. It's nowhere near that simple, yet, in some ways, it's simpler than that. I believe radio people will understand, though.

I've been extremely impressed by Mat Kearney. I thought when I heard his first release - wow - this is so fresh and different...hmmm wish I could have played "Undeniable" on AC 2 years ago. I hope he won't have to go through a "Switchfoot/Lifehouse" for AC play. First played on the few limited CHR stations then picked up by mainstream radio then after EVERYBODY else sees their talent...3 years later finally Christian AC considers them "safe" enough to play and adds 3 year old songs in as currents. Frustrating.

One of the brightest spots I'm seeing is how the various members of Cross Movement are doing their part in developing upcoming talent. It's good to see people give back that way.

I like that music like Mat Kearney's can help Christian radio reach listeners that may not otherwise tune-in. He has one of those voices that can connect with different generations!

new favorite..decemberradio--love found me..anybody have any info on these guys. they sound kind of like ac/dc..and its on xm 32 the message..

I didn't care for the releases from the first, but I'm very fond of this one. While more than 60 Hot AC's, two dozen AAA stations, ten CHR's, and a handful of others are playing "Nothing Left To Lose," only 10 Christian AC's are playing it, and only five of them two or more times per day.

Only 14 Christian AC's are giving significant spins to Jeremy Riddle's "Sweetly Broken." Interesting, though, is that many of the ones who *are* on it tend to be doing online callout and are apparently getting results that say, "power it!"
