Sigh....why do people post things when they don't know the "back story"? *coughFrishcough*

It IS true that The Chick was let go from 'NEW because of O & A. There was a "riff" there, and it is now fixed. A friend of mine is friends with Greg Hughes a.k.a Opie...so I know this. Jeremy Coleman wanted to bend over backwards for, what he thought was, the heart of 102.7 . Sadly enough, he found out after the Chick was let go, the station took a nosedive.

At Q104 Bob Buchman didn't get the fact that Leslie is a TALK SHOW HOST, and kept insisting she play 3,000 songs an hour and no talking, so that faded out.

As far as her not having talent? Um...New York is the number 1 radio market, You can't get on air unless you have some talent, and ther is no way in hell you would last more than one shift if you weren't any good. I think her numerous radio awards and constant high ratings beg to differ with your opinions. So if I understand, you don't like her...so that means it's a definite that she s*cks and is no good? Wow, you must be a super being to be able to decide what is good and what is not for others.

Well Stated and done with the great "Style!" I must be honest, I never thought she was too bad, I just never understood the move from 'NEW to Q-104.3 It just seemed that bringing her in to do AM Drive was a bit of a hinderance regarding music flow. She IS and WAS a Talk Show personality and putting her on a Music Driven station didn't make too much sense in the end. But just because it didn't work out, doesn't mean that she sucked or isn't qualified to be on air in Market #1. Jeeesh if these "Perfect Posters" had air-shifts in NYC then I suppose ALL would be WELL!

While the Frish can obviously defend himself I gotta say that this is about the most silly argument Ive seen. You're quoting a friend of a friend? Leslie Gold left and because of that the station took a nosedive? you cant be serious!. For starter you can ask Opie and he'll tell you that the only reason she had any numbers was because NEW ran best of O and A during the 2 o'clock houreveryday.... which if you're going by an arbitron clock is technically mid day or her shift.

It's Buchman's fault? maybe it's her fault for taking the job knowing that "she's a talk show host" and he was running a music station. Plus if she threw up huge ratings then he wouldn't have made her play as much music as he did. And how many songs an hour was she playing anyway? I dont remember it being that many, it was standard morning show fare.

So according to you it's everybody elses fault but the chick's? that's a reach and the some.

I dont have any feelings about her show one way or another but truth is that If she had constant high ratings then I doubt we would even be posting on this thread would we? I agree with you that to get to New York you have to have some sort of talent....... BUT if you're in market number one you should be talented enough not to have so many lame excuses if you fail too.

100% correct. Her #'s were awful on NEW, the best hour of her shift wasn't actually her (it was an O&A best of). Her styke just didn't mesh with Q 104. And it sure wasn't Buchman's fault. Why would he modify Q 104 (a station that never did great, but was doing at least solid) for a talk host that hasn't proven she could get any ratings?? Now if O&A went over to Q things would be different because they already proved they could get ratings, the Chick hasn't & actually what she proved is that she couldn't get ratings because her #'s at NEW sucked. Hell even O&A despite having a little leverage still had to play ball with the way the bosses at NEW wanted things to go when they arrived at NEW in June 1998, and at that time they were proven ratings getters (though in a different market Boston) they proved hey could do something at that time the Chick couldn't when she went to Q (or still can't) taht they could get RATINGS<P ID="signature">______________

All I know is that, personally, I LOVE the Radio Chick's show and I was a dedicated fan and daily listener on Sirius. I don't live in the NYC area, so I'm sad that she chose to leave Sirius. Personally, she was my favorite talk host on Sirius and I would choose her show over Howard Stern's anyday. I think she, Chuck, and Butch, are much more entertaining and fun to listen to. I will miss her, and I wish Sirius had put up the bucks to keep her there. Rumour is that Don and Mike are coming to Sirius to replace her, but I don't like them nearly as well as I do the Chick either. Guess I'll have to try and listen to her show on the web sometimes.

I dont think a response is even required except to say your response did give me a chuckle. I always love statements of the absurd.
