RadioShack has Grundig G-8 on sale...

FM is very good & selective, and has little to no bleed on adjacents. AM does poorly due to soft mute.

I agree 100% on what you say about the FM but I disagree with the AM performance. Maybe it's because I use headphones exclusively with it, but the AM with headphones is very go0d. With the soft mute it's only bad on stations that are so weak you can't really hear them that well on any radio.

I notice the Canadian version of Radio Shack has them to0..and I'm very very seriously considering picking up a second one in case this one quits some year.

The varying opinions on here and on the Radio Shack reviews leads me to believe the radios are sold unaligned, or with poor alignment.

I got my G8 in October of 2010 and it was well worth the $50 I paid for it.

Like crainbebo says, the FM selectivity is great and FM reception is as good as or even better than my Sangean PR-D5.

You can hear it in stereo if you use headphones.

For shortwave, you can't beat it for it's size and I've gotten some good catches for just barefoot reception.

I'm not crazy about the AM reception, though, but all in all it's a great radio, IMO.

Found out this uses the same Si4734 DSP that all Tecsun PL3xx series radios use. Some people say the AM is bad on the Grundig, I wonder if they use a smaller ferrite rod antenna because my PL-390 does pretty good. Its not as good as a loop antenna but good for a ferrite rod antenna.
