RadioTedStereoW/OShhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

While fiddling around this morning with a 45+ year-old wideband Siemens valve radio, what to my wondering ears would appear but the characteristic AM analogue stereo carrier of WHWH. So, I broke out my trusty-old rarely used Sony Stereo AM Walkman, and there was Patsy Cline in lovely AM Stereo at full quieting. Keep it up, Ted -- love the "old" technology and so soothing to the ears!
QTH here is North Plainfield, FYI

I still have the Sony AM stereo portable and the Radio Shack tuner.
I used to listen to WNEW AM and it sounded just like FM stereo
Too bad the FCC and the market place couldn't decide on which stereo system to use. First it was Magnavox followed by C Quam. Kahn never had a chance.
Ever engineer I knew did not like C QUam. They couldn't fully modulate the audio.

Your Ears are playing game with you.
WHWH is not running C-Quam...
I wish it was.

I guess I have not lost my touch with the Processing.... Thanks

I'm guessing you're running as wideband as possible? The C-QUAM decoder would make a difference there, according to my experience as a listener.

I can pick up WHWH in Gladwyne Pa. Surprisingly well. I simply do not remember 1350 having this good a signal until the recent re sign-on. I don't recall even a decent 1350 signal grade when I worked in Ewing back in the early 80's. Neal, is this a new pattern, or new transmitter? When do we get to see some handy dandy pictures of the TX and what your doin up there?

Neal

What is your opinion of C Quam?
Also, I try to listen to 1350,interesting mix of music

hey Sam

you got some great stuff of your dad up there, i remember when he announced 76'ers games. Wish my kids cared that much! great job bro, from somebody who listened to and loved your dads shows from philly to trenton ( he was better there, they cared more about him )

To answer your questions.
I LOVE C-QUAM.. I hate IBOC in its present hybrid mode.
The reason you can hear WHWH out in PA is because its running Under an STA operating NON-Directional.
at 1250 watts.
I am not sure if anyone noticed that WHWH is carrying live local High school Ball games on Fridays and weekends.
Listen For the Promo's at 5 after the hour.

As far as pictures. you can find them on my Website. just google WHWH or WTTM and you will Find them.
the only thing I added is a Backup transmitter thats not in the photos..

I hope yall Enjoy my mix of music.

Neal
