RadioX Needs a Playlist

So here I am, a 44 year old father of 3, rockin out to RadioX and have even turned my 15 old and most of his friends onto the station. I found it very telling that my son's primary criticism is the same as mine. We need a play list. Bottom line is I don't know many of these artists, and my son wants to get to know them. With very little talk on the station, there is no education as to the music played. So how bout it Scotty, can you help us out here?

I thoroughly agree with that statement. With this type of station, a playlist is essential.

On a related note: I was in Wantagh this past week and attempted to pull in Radio X on the 94.7 and 94.9 frequencies on several FM devices - no luck on the former, and only occasional reception on the latter (but always with lots of static). I was a little disappointed, as I expected Radio X to put a better signal in the area, but what can you do? I did enjoy what I managed to hear very much - it's good to see something refreshing in an area that is pretty much a radio wasteland plagued with a plethora of Adult Contemporary station (much like the market I reside in, Monmouth/Ocean, NJ).

We hear you.

We started posting playlists last weekend as a test on the radiox.fm site. I just spoke to Scotty and we will continue to post these TFN. Go to the LISTEN LIVE menu on radiox.fm - you will find them there!

Cool. Simple but it works. Have you contacted yes.com about monitoring RadioX like they do the other LI stations?

The station log works, and in some ways is better than a Yes.com solution because I have a standing list of music I can download and resample, with title and artist. To an industry outsider like me, its also very interesting to view.

I was wondering about Yes.com as well. Also, there are a number of engines out there that seem to cover the play list in return for a click to buy CD referral. Amazon.com powers many of these shopping baskets. That is more functional for those 'I need to know who that was now' issues, and could be a great on-air promo for the website.

Thanks again RadioX, for being responsive to your audience.

Radio X is a low power FM station. LPFM is for non for proffit companies to serve the community.
