Rado When Triv's Gone!

I really do not Like Rado. When Triv is there he is a totally different person. When Triv is gone, I really can not stand to listen to the Show. I think he thinks he is the main attraction. His views of the sports teams and life are so out of wack it's unbelievable. I don't know why but there is something about him that just gets me going. I just wanted to see if anyone else has the same views.

Venting!!

You know, its the oldest trick in the book.

The Beverly Hillbillies all over again. Put a clueless, uneducated bozo on the air and have fun listening to him "comment" on world affairs. It is supposed to be entertaining to listen to Clear Channel's cynical idea of a "typical Clevelander" struggling with the the simplest issue, or spouting stereotypical
misinformation as fact (like when he said that he "ain't shakin' hands with no gay because I don't wanna get AIDS"). Remember, this is all supposed to be Jed Clampett bewildered by an electric blender.

Personally, I think the whole thing is pathetic. Pathetic that Clear Channel thinks Triv represents the market at large, and that Triv does not seem to understand that he is a clown.

If you want to really hear some bright people on the phones, interviewed by bright hosts, check out WCPN's "After 9" segment.

Come on. Is anyone who is listening to the Triv show really interested in hearing bright phoners and intelligent talk? That's like suggesting to a Severance Hall concertgoer that he or she should go to the Odeon for an upbeat concert experience.

I think some of the listeners are. And they default to Triv because of the news-weather-traffic elements. My point was really more to illustrate to CC management that greater Cleveland is not necessarilly represented by Triv-like
cavemen, which the CC management team seem to think is true.

More like a Severence concertgoer attending a WWF wrestling match. While I believe that a certain segment likes listening to Triv for what he is, I truly believe that many default to him, and that a talk show hosted by a knowledgeable
person (who knows how to entertain, too, like a Mitch Albom) would blow Triv out
the water if placed head to head (WJR does not count, although WJR pulls its best numbers in Cleveland in afternoon drive. This is on an out-of-town signal.
There might be a clue in that!).

Guys... what part of 2-to-1 margin over the nearest competitor with Men 25-54 don't you understand?? If WJR is so great why is it tied for 41st place in that daypart and demo with less than 1/100th the audience Trivisonno has? (And no, signal is not the issue. WJR puts a great signal all over the Cleveland Metro). It's Show Biz... and Trivisonno gets it! And it's not all Joe Lunchbucket from the Brookpark Ford plant either. Every time something happens on that show I hear bankers and business owners talking about it.

If you want high-brow talk, they're waiting for you at 90.3.
