Who is going to pick them up for 2009? Will it still be on 97.1? KLOS?

I hope neither station cuz the Raiders suck!

Let's see...who could use the network compensation and needs to be loved by all his former network affiliate relations buddies...hmmm...Kane? Maybe he can talk Saul into it...so you can all NOT hear the games on AM 1260.

They won't be on KLAC because they carry the Chargers. Why not on Que Buena KLAX or KSCA 101.9? I mean most of the fans are cholos gangbangers that listen to that norteña crap!!! lol

1. First generation Spanish dominant persons from Mexico make up the bulk of the listeners to KSCA, KLAX or Que Buena. Most are working class persons with families and jobs. You offend them.

2. Spanish dominants from Mexico don't have any interest in American football. they are soccer fans. Same goes, even moreso, for American basketball. To most, American football is a bunch of grown men jumpling on top of each other over and over.

3. None of the three stations you mention plays that much norteña; Duranguense, banda and even ranchera are the mainstays of those three stations.

3. No music that other people like is "crap." It's just music you do not like personally. I probably don't like the music you like, but I likely don't think it is bad... it's just not my taste. I like Picasso and not Dali... which does not make Dali a bad artist or inferior to Picasso.

4. Each of the stations you mention cumes around a million people 12+. That is waaaaay beyond the number of gang members in LA.

Don't mean to nitpick, but didn't you as well as many others on this board criticize the music on Indie 103.1 as crap, or lethargic, or horrible? These may not have been the exact words, but nonetheless other people's favorite stations have been criticized on the board MANY times...

I presume you are addressing the previous post, which is mine. I criticised Indie for not being successful, for not having much audience, for presuming to be an LA station despite not covering LA.

I never criticised the music; I know very little about the songs, artists and genre they played. It's not my taste, but that is precisely what is not the issue.

And let's be precise. Criticising music from a point of knowledge is fine. Criticising another music type because you don't like it and calling it crap is something else. And criticicizing stations can be on many levels... the right music type, but bad selection is an example... that is not denigrating the taste of others because you simply have a different taste.

I apologize, I thought you were one of the ones who did.

It's crap! Call it what you will. "Grupera" music as it is known in Mexico is CRAP. It's for the masses and the lower classes which makes up the bulk of the Mexican audience in the U.S. Also, Mexicans do enjoy the NFL. Televisa & TV Azteca have had the broadcast rights in the past in Mexico and the Dallas Cowboys enjoy a huge following in Mexico. Mexican immigrants and their children listen to the stations I mentioned before. KBUE has a huge following not only among Mexican immigrants but their children as well. Many artists in this genre are born and raised in L.A., like the Riveras for example. I'm entitled to express my opinion however I see fit and I'm with ex-KLSXer Adam Carolla on this.. he said L.A. FM radio is programmed for the stupid and mexicans. I agree. I know this ticks you off because you work for Univision. I would have put it another way, the dumb and the masses, lower class Mexican immigrants and some of whom it saddens me to say have cholo, gangbanger children. Why are "narco-corridos" prohibited on radio stations in Mexico? It's because the music is CRAP and it talks about the drug trade. Unfortunately this what they are feeding the youth these days on stations like KSCA, KLAX, KBUE and now "El Gato." Will the Raiders ever be on an FM station in L.A. again? I doubt it. I'm done with this topic.. NEXT!!!

"Grupera" is not the same as "norteña" which is what you originally called "crap." Grupera may or may not, depending on where you are in Mexico, include norteña. And none of the LA stations you cited are "grupera" stations.

I love much of the music, and don't think it is crap.

It's for the masses and the lower classes which makes up the bulk of the Mexican audience in the U.S.

Of course, people of all levels enjoy it, as it is the national music of Mexico.

Also, Mexicans do enjoy the NFL. Televisa & TV Azteca have had the broadcast rights in the past in Mexico and the Dallas Cowboys enjoy a huge following in Mexico.

Actually, ver few like NFL. And those few are in the upper income levels... the ones you just said don't come to the US. Mostly, it's people who have come to the US for their college education, and learned to like football while following their alma mater's team. The other 110,000,000 Mexicans like soccer.

You see, I think American football is a dumb and boring sport... but I don't say that it is wrong for you to like it, because it may be fun and exciting to you.

Mexican immigrants and their children listen to the stations I mentioned before.

Some Mexican immigrants listen to those stations (KSCA, KBUE, KLAX) and some listen to KLVE, KRCD, KSSE, KDLD, KLYY, KTNQ, KWKW, KWIZ, etc.

KBUE has a huge following not only among Mexican immigrants but their children as well.

No, they don't. The kids listen to KIIS, KPWR, KBIG, KAMP, KYSR, etc.

Many artists in this genre are born and raised in L.A., like the Riveras for example.

Name 5 others. "Many" is a gross exaggeration.

I'm entitled to express my opinion however I see fit

Calling the taste of other people crap is demeaning... and mostly you demean yourself by saying such things that reveal you as less than politely tolerant of "different strokes for different folks."

and I'm with ex-KLSXer Adam Carolla on this.. he said L.A. FM radio is programmed for the stupid and mexicans.

Carolla had just been fired when he said that. What's bugging you?
I would have put it another way, the dumb and the masses, lower class Mexican immigrants and some of whom it saddens me to say have cholo, gangbanger children.
And lovely Mrs. Booth's child killed Lincoln. Some people out of any population, whether it be aborigines in Australia or the Royals in England go "bad." And what does this have to do with radio... I'm notorius for dragging threads off the subject, but this is a bit extreme even for my wayward ways.

Why are "narco-corridos" prohibited on radio stations in Mexico? It's because the music is CRAP and it talks about the drug trade. Unfortunately this what they are feeding the youth these days on stations like KSCA & KBUE.

KSCA does not play narcorridos. "Venimos a trabajar" (We came to work) as Piolin says.

Oh, and "youth" does not listen to KSCA... the audience is pretty much 25-54, with the average age being around 36 or so.
